Just wanted to pass along some information Garet posted over at the RGN forums (http://www.raidersmerciless.com/showthread.php?t=10143), regarding CoD TV.Hi,
Sorry been gone all day at my daughters crew race. Such a waste 3 foot waves so they canceled the race.
CoDTV is a poor man's version of HLTV (half life tv from counterstrike). For CoD 1 I was able to get IW to make changes for me (since nobody was gettiing access to source code) to support CoDTV that went into the 1.5 patch. For them to make something similiar to HLTV would have required a decent effort and $$$ on their part so we went with the simplest solution possible.
Anyway - CoDTV does require the viewer to have the game. You have a cameraman in a server who streams what he sees with a configurable time delay (so if its a match people can't cheat and get on someone's voice server to give away the enemies position etc). The people who want to watch the match have a small client that they use to select a stream to watch and then it starts CoD.
I'll explain more on sunday.

We'll be on Bash and Slash (http://bashandslash.com/index.php) with PST*Joker and Joch Itch talking about CoD:TV, Modern Warfare 2, the recent IW event in LA and a whole lot more. 8PM EST (-5 GMT)
